We are taking a UCCX system from version 8.5.(1)SU3 to the 10.6(1)SU2. In the compatibility matrix guide (link below) it says a direct upgrade from 8.5(1)SU4 is supported but in the upgrade guide it just talks about 8.5.x – could we get away with a single jump to 10.6 from 8.5.1(SU3) or will we have to do a two stage upgrade?

You will need to upgrade to 8.5(1) SU4 and only then the upgrade to 10.6(1) SU2 should/will be possible. I understand the upgrade guide just states 8.5(x) and not anything specific however the Compatibility Matrix is correct and should be the point of reference.

Thanks for the reply Deepak. Do you know if CAD will have to be upgraded between 8.5(1)SU3 and 8.5(1)SU4

Yes, the versions will ideally need to be upgraded since 8.5(1) SU3 has 8.5.1.312 version for CAD/CSD whereas for 8.5(1) SU4 it is 8.5.1.417. However, if you do not have plans to stay on 8.5(1) SU4 for a long time you can avoid upgrading CAD/CSD and do it only after upgrading to 10.6(1) SU2
