CCX 9.0.x IVR to text message

I have had a question from a customer about gathering a customer phone number via IVR, taken that number doing a database dip to find the agent on call and sending the phone number of the caller as a text mesage to that agents cell phone.

Has anyone tried anything like this before?  Thanks

Hi.  There are several ways of sending a text message to someone; none of them originate from UCCX.

What I mean by that is, UCCX cannot send a text message.

However, it can send emails.  And emails to the right SMS gateway can send SMS for you.

Example:  Verizon uses

number@vtext.com

Source: http://www.verizonwireless.com/news/article/2013/06/computer-to-phone-text-messaging.html

Email in UCCX requires Premium licensing.  You didn't specify if you had Premium or not.

If you don't have Premium, you could look at sending an HTTP request to a web server within your organization, and then this web server would then send the email on your behalf.

Hope that helps shed some light on the topic.
