CUIC database connectivity with Historical and Real Time Database

Hi All;

I am configuring the CUIC version 8.5 and I need to configure the data source connectivity for the UCCE historical database and the UCCE real time database, so I am giving the IP address of the HDS Server (this when I am configuring the connectivity with the historical database), but when I came to the username and password, I am facing a problem as in the HDS server it self, I am using windows authentication. So, what should I do? To create a new username and password with SQL authentication to be used for the CUIC datasource?

About the real time connectivity, I have to give the IP address of the RGR, correct?

All of this is used for UCCE reporting, but how it will be in case I need to use CUIC to generate CVP reporting?

Regards

Bilal

Helo Bilal,

This release of Unified IC supports MS SQL Server and Informix databases.

This release supports Data Source connections across a wide area network.

This release does not support Windows Authentication to an MS SQL Server database. UseSQL authentication only.

So you will need to use mixed mode authentication and create a username/passwd to be used.

Both your Realtime and Historical datasource should point to xxx_awdb which has views to access the hds db.

For CVP you have to create informix datasource and use the user id for the reporting user who is configured

in the operations console to access the cvp reporting database this is described in more detail in

Reporting guide for CVP, pg 15

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/customer_voice_portal/cvp8_5/configuration/guide/CVP_Reporting.pdf

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Hello

We are upgrading to UCCE 9.x and I am wondering if this version of CUIC supports Windows Authentication to MS SQL Server DB.

Thanks,

Thenu

Thenu,

From the CUIC 9 SRND:

Set SQL Server Authentication to SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode. This release does not support Windows Authentication to a SQL Server database.

You will need to use SQL Server authentication to MS SQL Server DB from CUIC.
