Dependency on Finessse for Agent login thru a third party Application

It seems that there is some dependency on Finesse, as we have to login to Finesse first and then our application. We would like to understand on the dependency portion and would like to have our application to work irrespective of Finesse.

Our developers did the code required to make sure that our Salesforce adapter (example) is not dependent on Finesse during login process but still it seems that w/o finesse up and running, enterprise will not work

Any updates on this?

we are dealing with Altitude Software and they say that they integrate with UCCX through GED-188.

But on my end I have UCCX with Finesse and we don't want to use the Finesse Desktop to login the agents. We want that the 3rd party application do the job through GED-188.

What is your feeling with these scenarios?

Salesforce no longer allows its website to be loaded into an IFRAME. Gadgets in Finesse and other applications use an IFRAME to load the Salesforce website.
