You can find that information in SRND under the heading of Public Network Traffic Flow & Private Network Traffic Flow which is chapter Bandwidth Provisioning and QoS Considerations

I hope this is what you are looking for

You are welcome

public & private are used for both Rogger servers & PGs machines(both side A and Side B). for AW use only one interface.

I hope this is helpful

for AW----> only one visible IP Address

When the SQL Server is installed, make sure you choose binary sort order. That's what the ICM databases (Logger, AW) require.

Geoff

Geoff is right. I think you did not installed the SQL server correct way. I have attached the SQL and PG (this PG screenshots are for PG generic, CUCM & VRU together) installation screenshots for you. Hope this will help.

Also after SQL installation and before Logger and AW/HDS installation you need complete the below tasks

Select Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > Configuration Tools > SQLServer Configuration Manager. The SQL Server Configuration Manager appears.

Expand the SQL Server Network Configuration and select Protocols for MS SQL Server. And ensure that Named Pipes and TCP/IP are in the Enabled Protocols section. If either is not,right-click the disabled protocol name and select Enable. Ensure VIA is in the Disabled Protocolssection.

Then expand SQL Native Client Configuration and select Client Protocols. A list of the client protocols appears to the right. The correct order and states are:

1.Shared Memory - Enabled
2.Named Pipes - Enabled
3.TCP/IP - Enabled
4.VIA - Disabled

If the order/state is not as indicated in the previous step, right-click Client Protocols and selectProperties.

Hi Bilal,

You should uninstall and then install the SQL server again. Also for installing ICM you need to follow the ICM staging guide. Please find the attached ICM staging guide. Please let me know if you have any further question.

Thanks and Regards,

Ashfaque.

Thanks alot .. it helped me.

So, public and private Only to be used for RGR servers (and will not be used for PGs or Admin/HDS/WebView)?

Same thing for high value and normal priority?

For AW to use one interface with one IP address (or two IP addresses, high priority and non high priority)?

for AW----> only one visible IP Address

While doing installation for PG, it did not ask for High visible IP address for the PG (it is only Visible A and B). But yes it asked for Private and High Private (for the PG). So, where to give the High Visible IP for the PG? It does not ask for high visible.

By the way: I installed SQL Server 2005 with the SP 3 on the RGR machine, and I installed the Router, when I came to do the installation for the Logger, then it gaves me the following message:

"The collation of Microsoft SQL Server on this machine is unsupported. Please refer to the Installation Guide and contact your SQL Server administrator"

What should I do in that case?

Same message it gave for me when doing the Admin installation!

Thanks for your kindly help.

Bilal

If the order/state is not as indicated in the previous step, right-click Client Protocols and selectProperties.

It look like it is related to the collation .. which was during the installation of the SQL ... But do I have to reinstall, or I can set the right collation?

* What is mean by Named Pipes and the VIA?

As I am doing refresh technology, so do u advise to start by the databases (bring it from the production and modified it using EDMT) and then do the installation, or to do the installation and then the EDMT?

Or EDMT, then installation and last thing the registry keys?

Your kindly help is high appreciated.

Special thanks for the help.

Dear Irfan,

Could you please, give me more info about Interface on UCCE component?  After I read PreInstallation Guide I have some trobles about their  interfaces.

I'm testing on vmWare Environtment on UCS-B series

-  CallRouter consist of two Physical Interface. 1 for Visible and 1 For  Private. How to implement High Visible and (normal)Visible on one  Physical Interface? (used secondary IP Address concept?)

- PG and Logger,

1.) what is the interface for RAS1, RAS2 and Modem Tel Number?

2.) from above interface what are they used for?

- AW-HDS, is there any side A / side B deployment? and DDS is the same?

BR.
