Music in Queue is horrible

I am running UCCX 10.5.1. I am working on a script where I wish to put hold music in a queue.

I have formatted the audio file accordingly. (8bit, 8000hz, mono) and it sounds fine when I play the file itself.

I wanted to simply upload that, reference the file with a "prompt" variable and tell it to execute between "call hold" and "call unhold" actions in the script.

When I listen to the file in the script, it is horrible! You can't even listen to it for more than a few seconds, it is so bad.

How can I get a more clear sound? What other ways can I execute this?

Hi

What codec are you using to listen to the music? If it's G729 then it will sound bad. It's designed for voice and music does not encode well with it.

If your server is set for G711, and you are listening via a G711 connection, then  check that you have used the correct encoding type as well (CCITT u-law http://snafder.blogspot.co.uk/2011/01/saving-wav-files-in-ccitt-u-law-format.html)
