Scripting A Web Service Call

Here's what I'm attempting to do, if someone would be so kind as to explain exactly how to script this:

FUNCTIONALITY OVERVIEW: UCCX passes location information to a web service.  The web service pings the location to obtain network status, then passes the results back to UCCX.

• The script will collect the location information based on either user input, or a previous database query and populate it into a variable (don't need help with this part).
• The script passes the location information to the web service via http request.
• The script retrieves the results from the web service via http request, and populates them to a variable.
• The script flows according to the results populated in applicable variable (don't need help with this part).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and thanks!

Hi,

can you please explain the web service part. Is it SOAP or REST? Or is it a simple HTTP GET request returning a simple plaintext object? We can help you with that but we need this information first.

Hi,

you have the following options then:

1. Use a Java code block to issue requests and parse responses, as described here.

2. Create a Java package and invoke its methods within UCCX, look at this document here.

Both options have cons and pros, naturally, like everything in this world, eh?

Is it possible deploy certificate in UCCX for secure communication with web service? Or this needs to be embedded into the Java package?
