Scripts saved from CRS 4.0(4) for upgrade purposes

We are planning an upgrade by mid year, I found a white paper document that says I can down load the scripts to save for upgrade to 5.0 see link below.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/custcosw/ps5693/ps1846/white_paper_c11-452619-00.pdf

My question is, can I use the scripts saved from 4.0(4) and skip over 5.0 and just upload them to the 7.0 version or must the scripts first be placed on 5.0 and again extracted from 5.0 to be placed on 7.0??

There is so much documentation out there is quite difficult to parse through it all to arrive at the latest efficiate procedure.

Thank you in advance,

You should be able to open the v4 scripts in the v7 script editor, save them and then upload them to the v7 repository.

You could also do a relatively minor upgrade from 4.0(4) to 4.0(5). This will then allow you to go straight to v7, keeping your historical data, configuration and scripts.

Brian

Thats correct upgrading to 7.x requires DMT tool which works on 4.0(5) version - If you are 4.0(4) you will have to upgrade to 4.0(5)  - use DMT to back u pthe data - install 7.0(1) restore and update the box to Sr5

Thank you for the quick reply.

I thought that since both 5.0 and 7.0 share the 2003 OS it would be possible.

My next thought is the minor upgrade to 4.0(5), is that so the Data Migration Tool can be used.

It appears the DMT works only on 4.0(5) and above.

I think eventually we will end up at 8.5(1), but getting to a point to go Windows to Linux in the fewest steps.
