When I place a test call into uccx script , call gets answered , stay on call for a couple or so minutes. Go to RTMT go through the collection of files process through Trace & Log Central. I look at the phone to get the time I started the test call and ended the test call. I wait anywhere from 1 to 15 minutes later to collect the MIVR logs.
I get 1 or several Cisco001MIVRxxx.log.gz (xxx = the log number like 061) - these are logs which are unreadable
I get 1 Cisco001MIVRxxx.log (xxx= another log number like 062) - this log is always AFTER the time of the start of my test call and all the tasks and steps through the script to when it gets connected , so I cant see the flow of the call (I am looking for an issue).
I have tried different times (to / From) in the collection process (narrow the time frame / enlarge the time frame ) does not matter.
I have attached a screen shot of the folder where I have the files downloaded to , the call is probably in MIVR064 - but that file is barbage.

You need to unzip this .gz files by using 7 zip or some other compressing tool.
Once you right click and choose

Thanks Deepak .. I had checked the box to not zip the files , and since I rarely have need for a zipped file I did not recongnize that .gz
I will try your suggestion , I will return here to vote 'correct' once I am successful.

That option which are referring to will only apply to the main folder i.e., <UCCXFQDN>_CiscoUnifiedCCXEngine_MIVR_2016-03-17_10-38-53 but not for the actual files that is inside the folder. Yes please try that and come back in case you have any questions.

For the most part this worked, but some still show up with the .gz .. For instance I ran a report , zipped, then extracted the main folder with the 7 zip recommended. For the time period there were 3 MIVR logs 2 were no longer zipped (no .gz), but one file still was a .gz

[+5] to Deepak for his comments, you will need to extract the files first and then only you will be able to see the files in readable format.
