UCCX Finesse URL

We've deployed UCCX Active and Standby; now we need to configure a virtual URL load balancer for the active/standby servers. If active fails, it should automatically switch to standby. In our environment, there is no load balancer. How do I configure local DNS?

There is already some failover mechanism that is built into Finesse, like what is outlined here. Are you asking as far as if people try to log into it while it is down for instance?

Also, you can't configure local DNS on the box itself. If you don't have a load balancer I recommend you give your users both URLs. Everyone uses the primary and if they are connected they will failover. New users will have to try primary URL and if that doesn't work then use the secondary. Make that part of your training. Another thing I've seen if you have an intranet site that all your agents use, put the link they should use there. Then you have a bit more control.

An i think that it is not meant to be used for loadbalancing (What cisco documentation says).

Cisco Finesse Installation and Upgrade Guide, Release 12.5(1) - Initial Configuration [Cisco Finesse] - Cisco

From the docu:

After agents sign in to the Finesse desktop, the Finesse desktop client manages failover. For example, if a Finesse server goes out of service, the Finesse client automatically redirects and signs the agent in to the other Finesse server. The client can manage various network and server failure use cases. Given this client-side logic, the use of a load balancer after sign-in is not required nor supported.
