Leaf & Spine with Dual Link in L3 one Port-Aggregate Link Or L3 ECMP

Hello There

I have 2*Spine (C9332) & 12*Leaf (C93180) in Bank Data Center.

I want to connect each leaf to spine with two phys. links;

There are two solutions:

  1. Port-Aggregate Links in Leaf & Spine (One L3 Link- LACP)
  2. L3 IP Add. Assign for each phys. link (OSPF Participate & Neighbors)

Which solution is true & recommended for implementation ?

Hello @moj_ccie

As I concerned, I do this:

L3 IP @. assignement for each physical link. Each physical link between the leaf and spine switches has its own unique IP address. This allows for a direct routing connection between the leaf and spine switches, which can improve network stability and reliability.

But the "recommended solution" for implementation will depend on your network requirements and goals, such as the desired level of network reliability, bandwidth requirements, and network scalability.

Best regards

Thanks, I agree with you because of:

- Cisco DCNM/ Fabric Controller & ACI Build L3 independent Interface (Maybe it's Cisco best practice !)

- When I use Port-channel and one link in Port-group fail, OSPF has no idea and feedback of this failure & ECMP method work in wrong way.

Best Regards
