Hi SYGY,

What version of NX-OS the switch currently is running and to which version you want to upgrade?

You can check the releases notes of the version that you want to upgrade for the procedure.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/nexus-3000-series-switches/products-release-notes-list.html

In this tool you can check is ISSU is supported:

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/Website/datacenter/ISSUmatrix/index.html#cur=7.0(3)I7(7)&tar=9.2(4)

Thanks for your reply, nexus software release 6.0(2)A7(2)

Hello SYGY,

Hope you are doing well.  After reviewing the discussion, I can see that you are running code: 6.0(2)A7(2) on your Nexus 3548.

Unfortunately upgrading from this code, as described in the article below:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus3548/sw/release_notes/602_A7_1/n3k_rel_notes_6_0_2_a7_2.html

ISSU or Zero Interruption Upgrade is not supported and  "Install All is the only option that supports upgrade and downgrade between releases."

Therefore, upgrading your code will indeed require a reload of the switch.

Regards,

HI Jaime :

Thanks for you reply.
I also find the documents link:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus3548/sw/release_notes/602_A7_1/n3k_rel_notes_6_0_2_a7_2.html
There is mentioned as below:
Upgrade Path to Cisco NX-OS Release 6.x
Install All is the only option that supports upgrade and downgrade between releases.

If a custom CoPP policy is applied after upgrading to Cisco NX-OS Release 6.0(2)A1(1) or later, and if the Nexus 3548 switch is downgraded to Cisco NX-OS Release 5.0, where changes to the CoPP policy are not permitted, the custom CoPP policy is retained and cannot be modified.

Note: copy r s and reload is not a supported method for an upgrade.

In addtion, i also find this info as below:

ISSUs are supported on the following platforms:

Cisco Nexus 3172PQ, 3172TQ, 3172PQ-XL, and 3172TQ-XL switches

Cisco Nexus 3132Q, 3132Q-X, and 3132Q-XL switches

Cisco Nexus 3064, 3064-X, and 3064-T switches

Cisco Nexus 3048 switches

Cisco Nexus 3016 switches

Is the nexus3548 older than other nexus3k device ?

Thanks & BR
