Typically on my 2821 routers I use :
1 E1 leased line (data)
1 BRI backup to leased line
1 E1 (ISDN-30) for PSTN/voice
I am configuring a router that only needs 4 voice channels (therefore PRI for voice is overkill).
Can I install a NM-4B-S/T and use 1 port for data backup BRI a 2 ports for PSTN BRI ? leaving one spare PRI port ?
Presumably this card can be used for voice or data traffic and the ports can be configured for different purposes ? Also, that card will fit in a 2821 wont it ?

Hi ajenks,
Sorry the voice and data ISDN BRI cards are different. VIC or WIC for voice and adata respectively. These are the small cards and do not require a full network module slot, so you use a 2801 as well and fit up to 4.

OK, thanks.
I am going to look at VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE= for the 2x BRI voice and stick with the WIC-1B-S/T-V3= data for single BRI data.
Thanks.
