Is it possible to use 3rd party DDR DRAM/Compact Flash in Cisco 2800 series routers for UC? Any adverse affects?

Yes, usually works good.

Glad to hear as their approved memory for routers is quite expensive.

Search on eBay, there's usually plenty of memory and flash sold there.
