Hi All,
I was having some issues with ip phones model 6921 been mute for some calls then I decided to upgrade firmware from versio 9.3(1) to 9.3(3), but after I did set up one of devices to use this new firmware , the is not able to register on CM anymore staying in not registered mode. Then if rollback to the old version the register on CM.
I had tried to download the firmware files and installed on CM again, I but still experiencing the problem
Any idea what can be causing that issue ?
Regards
AB

Hi Antonio,
In the 9-3-3 release notes there is this detail;
Note | Before deploying the 9.3(3) firmware, the Cisco Unified Communications Manager must be updated to the latest device pack. |
Which would be (below) if you are running CUCM 8.6
;
http://www.cisco.com/web/software/282074299/100781/cmterm-devicepack-8_6_2_23071-1_Readme.pdf
Could give that a try
Cheers!

Hi guys,
we have had the same problem, 6921 phones had some strange behavior, not downloading localisation, wrong timezone, registering to secondary callmanager, no ring-back on calls...
I did upgrade the FW by installing only the FW package to CUCM, but the phone behavior was still strange,
I had to install full 9.3.3 device pack to CUCM, downgrade those 6921 and then upgrade them to this new version.
after this, all functions are working fine now
thank you Rob for your suggestions, you really helped me with this.

Thomas

Help. I have this phone also.
I upgraded it and then flashed it to sip 9.3.3.2 i think.
I have tried numerous xml scripts for authenticating this phone with 3cx call manager and to no avail.
The phone says not registered.
In the 3cx call log it says unable to authenticate check id and password for extension?? plus lots of other stuff.
please does anyone know how to resolve this ive been trying for 4 days.

Hi Michael
Did you install the device pack first ?
http://www.cisco.com/web/software/282074299/100781/cmterm-devicepack-8_6_2_23071-1_Readme.pdf
I had this issue then I did install the device pack (install in all nodes) and reinstalled the phone firmware on call manager and it worked.

Michael,
Reading again your post I saw you are trying make phone work on 3CX Callmanager and not on Cisco CM , is that right ?

Hi antonio yes that is correct

Ok Michael,
So I don´t think steps I mentioned above will work on 3CX because the issue I had was on Cisco CM, phones were not registering with new firmware version 9.3(3) and I had to install a device pack on CCM Server to make phones work . Anyway don´t think it´s applicable for your case once phone were running SCCP and you not using Cisco CM
In this case I would suggest you try get in contact with 3CX team to check if this integration is possible and if is possible which firmware version you would have to use.
After google it found some guys integrating 7900 phones but never found any with 6900 series

Does the 9.3.(3) for 6921 work with 8.6.1 or need it to install Device Pack 8.6.2. to make it work?

David
