I have been having issues with a Plantronics CS55 Wireless Headset working properly with a 6921. We were unable to get it to work in conjuction with the phone's headset button, but we were ablet o get it to work by running it through the handset port like the user had on our old digital phone system.
According to Plantronics, the CS55 is compatible with the 6921 IP Phone, but I have heard otherwise from techs that said they heard per Cisco that it is not in fact that no wireless headsets are compatible. Can someone answer to this?
The main issue that this person is having is intermitting volume on calls. I have tested all the setting on the headset and they are correct. Some calls are perfecly fine and others, the end person can barely hear out end user.

Hi James,
Here is the official word from Cisco
The following update applies to the "Setting Up the Cisco Unified IP Phone" chapter in the Cisco Unified IP Phone 6921, 6941, and 6961 Administration Guide for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.0 (SCCP).
In the section on "Audio Quality Subjective to the User," there are references to using wireless headsets with the Cisco Unified IP Phone 6921, 6941, and 6961.
There is no wireless headset support for the Cisco Unified IP Phone 6921, 6941, and 6961.

Cheers!

Do you by any change know what models DO support wireless headsets?

Hey James,

Rob-
Do you have any recommendations for wired Plantronics Headsets that will work properly with the 6921 phones?
05-03-2011 08:33 AM
Hi James,
The "user" first choice is the H171 and second choice is the HW291N
http://www.plantronics.com/us/compatibility-guide/productlist.jsp?refresh=all&_requestid=607853
The compatability guide shows support for both with the 6900 series.

No need for an amplifier with the 6921?
Yes, I kind of stopped using the compatibility guide as it also says that 6921 phones support wireless which Cisco says no on.
05-03-2011 09:52 AM
Hey James,
The 6921 has a built-in headset jack so it should not need an
M12 or any Amplifier. It will need the cord (Part#26716-01) for the
Quick disconnect to RJ9 on the phone
I like this cheat sheet;

What is the difference with using the HL10 Lifter vs. the 37978.01 HHC for the CS55 on the 7962G?
05-03-2011 01:51 PM
Hi James,
Well.....the Lifter is an actual "mechanical" arm (sticky taped to phone) that senses ringing and
lifts the Handset to provide connectivity (very clunky )
The HHC is a cable assembly (connects to CS55 and Aux port on 7962) that uses an electronic
sensor and allows the user to answer/disconnect via the Headset (very excellent )
Cheers!

Hey Rob-
I have a group of phone and only some of them are able to successfully Park calls. One the phones that cannot park a call is one that is not used by a specific person and does not have voicemail for it. When you try to park call from it, the person will her that the extension does not have a mailbox asscoicated with it on the system and then the call is transferred to the hunt goup. How do I fix the vmail issue since it will not have a voicemail?
Also, why do calls randomly choose park slots? I have 6000-6004 setup and they never start with 6000. On person always gets 6001 even though no other calls are parked.
Lastly, how do I get calls to display the full DID number when you make a call outbound. Right now it is only showing four. The number which I tested from is 425-247-2236 and it goes out as 2236. Here is the rule that I am using:
rule 7 /^7/ /4252472/
Any help is appreciated!
Cheers to you!
Jim
