6941 phones hang when downgraded from SCCP69xx.9-3-1-3 to SCCP69xx.9-0-3-0

Has anyone been using SCCP69xx.9-3-1-3 firmware on 6941 phones? We just upgraded 100+ phones from SCCP69xx.9-0-3-0 and ran into the problem with call quality. In addition to this going back to SCCP69xx.9-0-3-0 hangs the phone on start (Cisco logo on white background) screen. The only way to boot the phone is a factory reset. We also tried SCCP69xx.9-2-4-3, but still had voice quoality issue. We are running CUCM 7.1.5.

I haveTAC case open, but would like to know if anyone else is having similar problem.

Hi there,

When you went back to 9-0-3 did you use .sgn - signed files?

Cheers!

Rob

Yes, all three images .sgn : SCCP69xx.9-3-1-3.zz.sgn, SCCP69xx.9-2-4-3.zz.sgn, and SCCP69xx.9-0-3-0.zz.sgn

Here is the log from one of the phones:

Just as a follow up for my question above. TAC found a resolution for this problem. The downgrade has to be done in two steps :

SCCP69xx.9-3-1-3 -> SCCP69xx.9-2-1-0

And then

SCCP69xx.9-2-1-0 -> SCCP69xx.9-0-3-0

This is a little counterintuitive as upgrade from SCCP69xx.9-0-3-0 -> SCCP69xx.9-3-1-3 works just fine.

Thanks for posting back with your results +5

This will help others here @ CSC.

Cheers!

Rob
