I am trying to do a restore to a lab machine in preperation for an upgrade. I have done a drf backup on the production box and I have loaded the lab machine with the same version, hostname, domain, and IP address. When I try and to the drf restore I get the following error.
ERROR: At least one of the servers which was requested to be restored is not connected: publisher_name_here. This may be due to Master or Local Agent being down., Restore Completed...
The server that it says is not connected is the publisher. This is the only server I chose to restore. Why will it not restore???

The lab server needs to have same details, in addition to what you have mentioned - admin, application and security credentials etc. need to match with the prod cucm. If thats all good you can check the Cisco DRF Master and local services on your lab server and make sure they are running. You can try restarting these services if already running and then try again. Worst case - you can try rebooting the lab server.

Ok I have checked and all the users and passwords are the same but it still failes. Here is the information requested. Also since I am just wanting to restore the publisher the subcribers should not have to be online correct?
admin:run sql select * from ProcessNode

Hi,
When u took the backup , were DNS servers reachable/available .
Now, when u are restoring , are DNS servers reachable.
regds,
aman

Yes this is the case. Will that cause the restore to fail?

Note Before you restore a cluster, make sure that all nodes in the cluster are up and communicating with the first node. You must carry out a fresh install for the nodes that are down or not communicating with first node at the time of the restore.
Note You can restore the whole cluster as a single operation after you rebuild the publisher server and the subscriber servers, or to revert to a known good configuration. You do not need to restore the first node and the subsequent nodes in two separate operations.

I can't find the output from the "live" CUCM?
Did you follow the guide mentioned above?
How many servers do live CUCM have?
07-01-2013 11:16 AM
Sorry here is the info from the live server. I do not care about the subcribers. I plan to do a fresh install of those as the document says. Thanks

You have to install all servers as mentioned in the document. Otherwise it will fail
Please check DRS guide.

Hi Gene,
I am in SYNC with Vadym(+5).
Please install all the servers which were in production for successful establishing LAB and then, restoring.
