7945 phones not taking custom background image

I've been trying to get background images working on our phones for the last 2 days and for some reason they just won't take. I'm doing it the bulk way by uploading the image, restarting the TFTP service, and applying it to the common phone profiles as the default while disabling the ability of users to change it. I was able to get it changed successfully on our 9971s, but the 7945s and 7965s won't go.

These phones are a year old, models 7945G and 7965G, using SCCP. When I did the 9971s, which use SIP, it did seem like I had to let it sit for a while before it finally took the image when I did Apply Config. However, I've let these set overnight and still won't go. The images are 320x212 for the 7945 and 7965 and we're using CUCM 10.0.

I was actually able to correct this by downloading the latest firmware from Cisco, sccp9-4-2SR1, at https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=281346594&flowid=46217&softwareid=282074289&release=%209.4%282%29SR1%20&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Once I installed the firmware and reset the phone, the custom background came up immediately as it should have.

Hi Rolando,

I did try that as you suggested, but it did not fix the issue.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Thanks for your help with getting this fixed!

Jeremy

I can confirm that that the latest firmware does fix this issue.  I have tested on a few phones, models 7945 and 7975.

Thanks for the heads up

Hi

Jeremy, confirmed the same just above your post.

That post should be marked as the correct answer then, and not the one that basically says it cannot be done.

Thank you.

It wouldn't let me unmark the first correct answer or my own and no one else posted the firmware update until just now for me to mark as correct.
