7960 Auto Ring Extension When Handset Picked Up?

I need to place a phone at a locked door and have it ring an internal extension when the handset is picked up. Is this possible? I recall a posting some time ago about the same thing, but cannot find it. Any help will be apreciated.

Currently running old version of call manager 3.2.(2c)spH

Thanks,

Randy

Hi Randy,

This type of Hotdial "Bat-Phone" setup is very possible. Have a look;

Hotdial on IP Phones with CallManager Configuration Example

How to configure a Cisco IP Phone for Private Line Automatic Ring-down (PLAR) or Hotdial with Cisco CallManager. With PLAR configuration as soon as the phone goes off-hook it dials a pre-configured number. This be done by making use of calling search spaces (CSS), partitions, and translation patterns.

From this good doc;

Hope this helps!

Hrmm. On 4.1.3sr2 you can setup a blank translation pattern in a "LockedFrontDoorPT"; set the CSS to an internalonly and change the Called Party Transform Mask to whatever internal number you want to be called. Create a CSS that has the LockedFrontDoorPT in it. On the device, point the CSS at the one that you just made.
