8811, goes straight to speaker. speaker button hangs up the call.

At one of our stores, I received several brand new 8811's. One of them, goes straight to speaker. speaker button hangs up the call. I tried unscrewing the back and found nothing to clean, per video instructions. This is a brand new phone. I'm told to throw it away and buy a new one.

Hi there

Since its a brand new try returning it. There is a procedure to reset the device to factory settings.

Procedure

Step 1

Remove power from the phone in one of these ways:

·         Unplug the power adapter.

·         Unplug the LAN cable.

Step 2

Wait 5 seconds.

Step 3

Press and hold # and plug the phone back in.

Step 4

When the Headset and Speaker buttons are lit, release # and enter the following key sequence:

123456789*0#

The light for the Headset button turns off after you press the 1 key. After you enter the key sequence, the Mute button lights.

Caution

Do not power down the phone until it completes the factory reset process, and the main screen appears.

The phone resets.

Hope this Helps

Cheers
Rath!

It's unfortunate to hear that you are experiencing issues with a brand new 8811 phone. If the phone is directly routing calls to speakerphone and the speaker button is hanging up calls, it seems like there could be a hardware or software issue with the device.

Before deciding to throw away the phone and purchase a new one, here are a few troubleshooting steps you might want to try:

  1. Factory Reset: Performing a factory reset can often resolve any software-related issues. Please be aware that this will erase all user settings, messages, and contacts. Check the device’s user manual or the manufacturer’s website for instructions on how to perform a factory reset on your specific model.

  2. Software Update: Ensure that the phone's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates to fix bugs or improve functionality. Check the manufacturer’s website for any available updates.

  3. Contact Manufacturer Support: Since the phone is brand new, it should be under warranty. Contact the manufacturer’s customer support for assistance. They might be able to offer a solution or replace the faulty device.

  4. Check for Physical Damage: Even though the phone is new, it could have been damaged during shipping or handling. Inspect the device closely for any signs of physical damage.

  5. Exchange at the Store: If you purchased the phone from a retail store, check their return policy. They might allow you to exchange the faulty device for a new one.
