8831 conference phone - No join softkey in connected state

In 8831 conference phone, I have two connected calls - 1 on hold and another connected.  I want to create conference using these calls.  In other model phones, I can use join/conference softkey to convert these individual calls in to a conference call.  But in 8831 conference phone, there is no join softkey to merge the calls.  Also, when I press conference button, it gives a dial-tone instead of showing the list of active calls.

I could see that the softkey template has no impact on 8831 softkey configuration.  Is there any way to achieve this.

Can you check if  you have below parameter is set to True

CUCM - Service Parameters - Advanced Ad Hoc Conference Enabled

Rest is the same as suggested by Nadeem:

Join  --  From a connected call,  press  Conference and then  press  Calls  to view a call  list for join.

And I want to add that this feature will not be available if you have two on-hold calls. You should have one active call at least.

Deepak

Join: From a connected call, press Conference and then press Calls to view a call list for join.

Br, Nadeem Please rate all useful post.

Thanks Nadeem.  Yes, I did gone through this document.  As mentioned in my original post, when I press the conference button with two active calls in 8831 (one on hold & one on connected state),  I am getting a dial-tone instead of showing the list of active calls.  Why is it not showing the list of active calls.

Hi Majeed,

In addition to the great info from my friends Deepak M., Nadeem & Deepak R. you may be hitting this bug on the 8831. It details a similar call setup as to what you are attempting and relates to firmware 10-3-1 and 9-3-2;

https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCug20247

Can't conf another conference via Calls softkey
CSCug20247
Symptom:
Unable to complete a conference call on an 8831.

Conditions:
Reproduce steps:
1. Make CP-8831 phone has a 3-way conference.
2. Place a new call to CP-8831, CP-8831 answer.
3. Now CP-8831 screen focus on the new call.
4. Press the conference softkey.
5. Press the calls softkey.
6. Highlight the 3-way conference and press conference softkey.
7. Conference can't complete.

Workaround:
Joining a basic existing call into conference works well. Consult conference call feature works well as well.

hello Team,

Can I actually update the Soft key template for 8831 phones ?
Seems Soft Key Template has no effect on 8831 phones and seems is of no Use, is this correct statement ?
