8831 on a CUCME

I upgraded a CUCME to 10.5 to allow 8831s to be used on it.

I have run into a software problem with the phones, it that as I was doing it remotely I didn't see the label on the botom of the phones listing the minimum software revision so I loaded and served out 9.3.3.5
I now need to re-upgrde the phones to 10.3.1 to get them working.

I editted the lines on the CUCME but the phones won't download the files. Do I need to delete the VOICE REGISTERGLOBAL lines and re-insert them on the CUCME to get the phones to download the files that are available via TFTP.

Hi Steve,

I believe you would need;

Router(config-register-global;)# create profile

From;

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmeadm/cmefiles.html#pgfId-1023156

Cheers!

Hi Steve,

Best of luck with this change! Just to verify you downloaded the "v2" version of the zip files;

cmterm-8831-sip.9-3-3-TO-10-3-1-v2.zip

Cheers!

Rob

Yeah I know that is a CM thread. The idea was to give you the information about the interim upgrade which is required in order to reach 10-3-1-16.

You will need to use the load command with exact name of FW under voice register global, rest remains the same as you normally do for FW upgrade

Deepak

That thread is for a Callmanager, I have a Callmanager Express. I understand the firmware upgrade needs the interim version. I'm confused about the cli commands on the Callmanager Express

Thanks Rob,

That's the conformation that I was looking for. People were suggesting create config files in the Telephony system part of the configuration, but that didn't work.

I'll be trying again on Monday, wish me luck.
