8961 with CME 8.6

I have an 8961 phone that I am trying to register with our CME 8.6 with no luck. It looks like the 8961 is supported using SIP firmware but when I enter the load 8961 command under telephony services I am not able to define the firmware. Can't figure out what I am missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

If you're configuring a SIP phone, you'll need to use 'voice register global' instead of telephony-service.  See below:

R3-CME(config)#voice register global

R3-CME(config-register-global)#load ?

  3911       Select the firmware load file for 3911

  3951       Select the firmware load file for 3951

  7905       Select the firmware load file for 7905

  7906       Select the firmware load file for TNP 7906 phone

  7911       Select the firmware load file for TNP 7911 phone

  7912       Select the firmware load file for 7912

Thanks Chris. I had to also enter in mode cme, after the voice register global command, but then I was able to specify a firmware load. Thanks for your help!
