Hello --
We recently purchased some 9971s with the KEM side car. We are used to the 7975s with the 7916 side car and being able to pick up a line on the side car just by pressing the button on the 7916. However, with the 9971, everything seems to have moved to the service buttons, and calls are not answered by just pressing the line key.
Is there any way to mimic the 7975 behavior with the 9971s?
Please let me know.
Thanks!

Start mentioning system type and version you're using.

Didn't think it mattered. Callmanager 9.1

There are a couple of features called 'All Calls' and Answer Oldest'
You'll have to create a new softket template to include these two features, then they will be on the left hand side buttons.
When the All Calls button is selected, any line on the phone rings to the right hand side buttons in order and you use those buttons to answer the lines. It actually makes it easier to answer the lines.
The Answer oldeset button will answer the oldest ringing line automatically, so you don't have to guess.

Just a slight correction, 9971s do not use softkey templates, they use "Feature Control Policy" to enable these.

Sorry about that, slight correction, Chris you're half right, 9900 phones do not use softkey templates, you have to create a phone button template to add those features.
