I'm about to do a 7.x to 8.x upgrade where I am also changing physical servers. I performed a DRS backup of the 7.x server and am planning on importing that into the 8.x server (I have verified that the hop is supported).
My questions is about the TFTP files. The 7.x server naturally backs up its TFTP files. I assume this includes phone loads. When I do a DRS Restore on the 8.x server and give it the 7.x info, with the older phone loads from 7.x overwrite the newer ones that came with 8.x?

DRS needs to be restored on the exact same version and on the same hostname/IP address.
As to TFTP question with CUCM upgrade phone loads will upgrade automatically as well.

Hi Kyle,
In your original post you had mentioned (I think) how to upgrade from 7.x to 8.x
on an unsupported server platform. There is a process called a "Bridge Upgrde"
Bridge Upgrade - just in case
