BE6000 VMware Issues

Hello,

I have two BE6000 servers which come with pre-built 10.5 CUCM, Unity Connection etc. machines.

The servers shipped with CIMC 2.0(1b) and VMware 5.1.

I upgraded these to CIMC 2.0(3d)1 and VMware 5.5 using Cisco'c custom ISO image ESXi-5.5.0-1746018-Custom-Cisco-5.5.1.3.iso

Everything seemed to work ok but now when I try to power on a VM that I have created the console just stays blank.

I have tried various bootable ISO's but nothing is ever shown on the console. The vSphere client reports that the machine has been powered on ok.

This happens on both BE6000 servers.

Reading the VMware forums I can see people mentioning a similar issue with VMware 5.5 but it should have been fixed in version 5.5 U1 which is the version included in the custom Cisco ISO I used for the upgrade.

I am connecting directly to the servers using the client - not via vCenter - and there is no firewall in between my PC and the servers.

Has anyone else seen this and did you find a fix?

Thanks

I managed to get the console to work by disabling the local firewall on the machine which was running the vSphere client.

Pretty strange considering it working fine with VMware 4.1, 5.0 and 5.1!

Hope this helps someone else who encounters the same issue.
