We are currently running CUCM, CUCCX (premium), and Unity 7.0. Our servers are going EOL in the next couple of months and we are looking to move our systems to a virtual environment and upgrade everything to 8.6. I realize we will have to switch to Unity Connection.
I was wondering if anyone could suggest the best route to go on how to get to our end result. The servers that we have now won't support any software later than 7.0. They are Cisco MCS 7825 I2's
Thanks for the advice.

Hi Greyson,
Do you will install the 8.6 into the VMWARE environment?

2) Install CUC in Vmware

Even though version 7 is not supported in ESXi, i have been successful installing 7.X in ESXi and then upgrading to 8.X as you really have no other options with unsupported server.
As to UCON upgrade as recommaded by Ronak use COBRAS tool.

Chris, When you say you have been successful in installing 7.X in ESXi are you talking about CUCM or CUCCX or both?
Thanks for help.

Both.
