I was asked by a customer to setup a toll free number to ring an internal extension for example extension 2095 which is a HP that will ring 3 extensions included in the line group in top down order and then if there in no answer to roll to voicemail. I have all this working without an issue the caveat is the user would like access to forward this hunt pilot when needed. My first thought was to add a CTI Port with the same DN as the 2095 hunt pilot and associate an end user to the device/CTI port so that they could login to CCM end user website and control the forwarding. Problem I ran into is am unable to duplicate the extension 2095 as both a hunt pilot and a CTI port. Just wanted to see if maybe I was on the correct path or if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks for the help!!

Changing the HP settings requires CCMadmin access

Thanks Jaime, looks like I may need to convert this from a hunt pilot to a shared line so the user is able to forward it when needed.

Hi Jason,
you can try Hunt no answer to a Translation Pattern, that translate it to a DN which then you can CFA on demand.

Jitender:
Awesome advice but the problem I run into with that solution is not only does the user want to be able to forward this line on demand but they also want it to roll to voice-mail when it is not forwarded. Thanks!!

Hi Jason,
let me know if i understand correctly, lets say you deploy the above solution if the DN does not answer you can configure CFNA on unity and have a distribution list on unity send it to group of people you need access to that VM. But lets see if the user wants to leave you can manually forward that extension to CFA anywhere.

Jitender,
Yes you are correct with the above information. Basically I have everything working without the user being able to forward the hunt pilot.

Jason,
Unfortunately the option is not available on any current CUCM version does not allow the functionality. I would request you to open a feature request through your account team for feature validation. Till the time i believe the above workaround should give some respite.

Hi Jason,
In addition to the great info from Java and Jitender (+5 each) .....
If you want a real simple "fool proof" method to forward the 2095 you could remove it from the Hunt Pilot and make it the main DN on a phone in an accessible area. Then they can actually manually forward it to their own Hunt group (with newly created Hunt pilot DN) for the majority of the time and to the backup/alternate number(s) when necessary. You can have the newly created Hunt group setup exactly the same as 2095 was with same Line Group members and forward to voicemail settings. The unanswered calls will still roll to voicemail and provided you are using the "originally dialed DN" routing on Unity Connection the call will still hit the 2095 mailbox and you will get the added bonus of a RED MWI lamp for new messages on the 2095 phone.
Cheers!
Rob
