Call Manager System version: 8.5.1.10000-26
A few years ago in version 4.x I added an intercom button onto our admins second line space with a fake number "1000". I set the "Directory Number Information" to "Auto answer with speakerphone".
I then added the same button onto her superiors phone. It all worked great until recently I removed it by accident. And we've since upgraded to the latest version UCCM on Linux platform.
After I re-added that button back to her phone, it doesn't work. When she hits the button to intercom, all she gets is dialtone and the display shows "Dial Number".
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi Ross,
Generally, the "old" style Intercoms (which I quite like ) were
configured with a speeddial on the Admin phone set to ringdown
to the auto answer DN on the Manager phone. So for you it
would be a speeddial to 1000 on the Admin and a DN 1000 with
auto answer for the manager.
Cheers!

Intercom is a built in feature now so you don't have to setup a line with auto answer that will PLAR (blank translation pattern) to the destination. You have to add an intercom DN to the system and then configure the button on the phone as an intercom button.

Hi Joe, thank you. I will definitely try the intercom functionality in the future.
As for now it was exactly what Rob said. I had the same '1000' number on both as a DN. Fixed on the admin and changed to SD. Bingo!
Thanks Gents. Have a great weekend.
