Call Pickup on second line

Hi,

i have a strange issue on Call Pickup feature (i use CUCM 7.1.3) :

- i configure Call Pickup Group

- I have 2 DN's assigned to this Pickup Group

- I have 2 7962 phones and i put this 2 DN's ON THE FIRST LINE (first button) of both phones

- the Call Pickup Feature works great

My problem is when i change the position of the DN on the phone: if i put the DN on the second line (button) on the phone, the call pickup feature doesn't work. The same issue is present if i put the DN in every position different from first (2-6 7962 phone).

As i assign the Pickup group to a DN and not to a button position, i supposed the it must work.

Thank you.

It works for me. I am CUCM 7.0.1. verify the Pick group association on the DN

The 2 DN's are both associated to the pickup group: i'm sure that works because if i change the position of the DN (put it on the first line/button) all is fine. If i put DN on the second line/button, Call Pickup doesn't work.

@dijohn

Was your test done with shared lines? I think this could be a shared line issue

I want to better explain my situation. I have 2 phones:

- PhoneA with 2 DNs

      - 2001 on line 1

      - 2002 on line 2 and Pickup Group "test"

- PhoneB with 2 DNs

       - 2003 on line 1

       - 2004 on line 2 and Pickup Group "test"

In this situation Call Pickup DOESN'T work. (i tested this on both 7962 and 6921 IP phones)

While, if i change the configuration like this: (switch DNs position on phones)

- PhoneA with 2 DNs

      - 2002 on line 1 and Pickup Group "test"

      - 2001 on line 2

- PhoneB with 2 DNs

       - 2004 on line 1 and Pickup Group "test"

       - 2003 on line 2

ALL WORKS fine

Thank you.

Hi Roberto,

A couple of notes here

When using the second line (or any other than primary line) you will

need to press the Line button as a first step before any Pickup is done. Secondly

Pickup Notification only works with Primary Lines

For CUCM 7.x (***)

Call Pickup Notification

The Call Pickup Notification feature provides an audio or visual, or both, notification on Cisco Unified IP Phones when other members of a pickup group receive a call. Call Pickup Notification gets configured in three configuration windows for three types of settings: system, call pickup group, DN/phone.

Service Parameters Configuration-The type of audio notification (beep or ring) to be heard when a phone is idle or busy gets set from the Service Parameters Configuration window. This setting becomes the system default.

Call Pickup Group Configuration-The type of notification for each call pickup group gets configured from the Call Pickup Group Configuration window in Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration. In addition to configuring the type of notification, you can configure the time, in seconds, to delay the audio and visual alerts after the call comes into that group. This allows the original called party a chance to pick up the call prior to the audio and/or visual alert being sent to the pickup group. See the "Call Pickup Group Configuration Settings" section.

-To configure whether the notification will be audio or visual, or both, use the configuration settings in the Call Pickup Group Notification Settings section of the Call Pickup Group Configuration window. ***The notification gets sent only to the primary line of a device.

Cheers!

Great Rob!!! It works...i only needed to add "Pick Up button" to the softkey template in the "Off Hook" tab.
