Hi,
I am trying to access a historical report for an extension just to see how many calls were answered/unanswered.
The report that I get from CDR is too cumbersome. Is there somewhere i can access this from which is a bit more layman?

No, CDR/CAR reports are canned reports which are not customizable, if you want the reports in a different format or to customize them, you would need to buy a 3rd party billing server for that.

An alternate solution if you do not want to invest in 3rd party solution is to download the CDR/CMR files in csv format and parse through them. If you have some dev skills you can write a quick script i.e. in Python to create a quick search tool to perform quick searches.

VoIP Detective is a very easy to use reporting package, and has a free option. It will allow you to see how many calls were answered, abandoned, etc.
There are other tool that are also just as good, such as Verasmart or Telemate, however they do not offer free versions.
