You will need the IOS with CME capabilities. The PVDM you need will depend on the voice interfaces you have - T1/E1, FXO, etc. You can use the DSP calculator to calculate the number of DSPs required for your configuration.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Would this work on a 2801???
c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.123-8.T8.bin
also so to sum it up PVDM is only needed if you are going to covert the VOIP in the analog signal?
Thanks again

Yes, this IOS will work with a 2801. For future reference, you can use Feature Navigator to check IOS compatibility.
Yes, DSPs provided by the PVDM would be required for converting from IP to analog. They can also be used for conferencing and transcoding.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
First of all you need to download the required CME files. The files you download will depend on the version of CME you want to run..
Here is where you can find all the files..
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ip-key
NB: You will need CCO access for this.
2. You then need to ocnfigure the router for CCME.
To do use the CCME admin guide here..
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmeadm.html
This doc covers all the basics of configuring your ccme router and the required infratructure eg switches etc
NB: If this is just for a lab scenario where pstn connectivity is not involved then you do not need any PVDMS or DSPS.
However if you will require PSTN access then you need to use the cisco dsp calculator to know the exact type of PVDM based on the Voice Interface card you will be using...
here is a link to the dsp calculator tool
