Hi All,
I have a general question that I am hoping someone can offer help with.
We have 8 sites that are currently on 4 digit dialing. I would like to change them to 10 digit dialing. What is the general process for doing this? What all is involved?
Is there any documentation available on this? Any best practices?
Thanks
Cindy

The best document you can read is the dial plan section from SRND

A lot of people are going with E164 right now, features like EMCC and new features in 8.X require it.
If you don't need any of those and don't want to modify the DNs then just use TPs.

Hi here are a couple of things to consider.
You would have to change all the DN's. You would have to change your voicemail extensions
You would have to ensure what you receive from the PSTN could be routed to the correct phones

Thanks Java.
Between changing the DN versus using the translation rule, which one is usually preferred?
