CISCO 3825 G729

I have a cisco 3825 that I need the sip call leg entering the switch to be able to offer g729 curently it seems all calls are in G711U.  I am not abke to assign "

voice-class codec 1' to the

dial-peer voice 100 pots

any ideas?

call comes in as SIP from GIGE0/0 hits the dialer-peer voice 100 pots that points to a trunk group consisting of the

interface Serial0/0/0:23

no ip address

encapsulation hdlc

isdn switch-type primary-ni

isdn incoming-voice voice

trunk-group ALL

no cdp enable

then out the PRI

Hi Fernando,

Codec class is not supported on POTS dial-peer , its only for VOIP DP. There is an option you can put it under voice port , which further points to POTS DP.

Thank you but did not see anything about this in the voice-port     Do you know why this router does not have the option for

voice service voip

ip address trusted list

  ipv4 5.5.5.5

It seems I have no way to limit who can send calls to this device..  I attempted access-list but not sure if correct since if I send calls to it from my signaling server and dont include all customer ips as well it will block the rtp traffci since it is coming from a non-permited IP..

Any ideas?

Hi,

There is an option" codec complexity" under voice port but that didn't give intended result which you want.

Can you check by assigning subnet mask next to IP address under ip address trusted list. Like..

voice service voip
 ip address trusted list
  ipv4 203.0.113.100 255.255.255.255
  ipv4 192.0.2.0 255.255.255.0

And also do let us know IOS version of your router.

Hi.
Toll fraud prevention was introduced in release 15.1(2).
I suggest you to upgrade the IOS to the latest release available for 3825 which is 15.1(4)M7
You can negotiate g729 on voip dialpeers pointing to peers supporting that codec.
