Good Day,

My customer has a call manager 9.1(2) cluster and has recently bought some Csco 7800 phones, however they are not seeing the device type listed. Is there a device pack that i need to install. I opened a case with Cisco TAC about 5hrs to get this information but unfortunately i am still waiting.

Can someone assist, please?

Hi there,

Support for the 7800 series with CUCM 9.1.2 was added with the installation of Device package 9.1(2) (11012-1)

Cisco Unified Communications Manager
Device Package 9.1(2) (11012-1)
Release Notes

I would install the latest 9.1.2 Device Package 9.1(2)(13070-1);

Hi Mate,

yes you definitely need to reboot the cluster after installing the device pack when you are adding support for new phones otherwise these phones will not register. Server reboot is surely required.

Installation instructions in the release notes:

Note: When you apply a Device Package to enable new device support, a cluster-wide reboot is required for those devices to register successfully. A cluster-wide reboot is not required when you apply a Device Package to update existing firmware/configuration.

Thank you Rob.

Hi Rob,

I have just installed the device pack and i am seeing the device available. I am presently adding a 7821 phone but i wanted to know if i still need to reboot the servers?

Cisco TAC advised that I should since this is the only i would see the device however this is not the case now. What should I do?
