Hello,
When using a Cisco 78xx designed for SIP/3PCC/MPF the following two bugs occur in relation to the XML directory:
1.) The phone will crash and reset when using "MPP Reverse Name Lookup for Incoming and Outgoing Calls", if it receives an invalid response (i.e. not XML or not XML which the phone was expecting) from the server.
2.) The phone will add ?n=######## where ######## is the number being dialed to the end of the XML directory URL, regardless of whether it already had a ? earlier in the URL string.
For example, if your XML Directory URL is http://example.com/xml.php?parameter1=argument1 and you dial the number 0800215000, it will add ?n=0800215000 to the end of the above URL to make http://example.com/xml.php?parameter1=argument1?n=0800215000. This is obviously incorrect. Note the following from the log:
6996 DEB Jan 04 17:16:44.470741 (749:770) mphone-DNSCache_getMultiEntry pHostName: example.com 6997 DEB Jan 04 17:16:44.470863 (749:770) mphone-CHttp_needRetry(); need retry for code 1 6998 NOT Jan 04 17:16:44.470955 (749:770) mphone-cshttp.c:CHttp_processEx:611 bHttps=0 nPort=0 pHostName=example.com pIP=111.111.111.111 pURI=/xml.php?parameter1=argument1?n=0800215000 m_nPort=80 pSrcFileName=/xml.php?parameter1=argument1?n=0800215000 6999 NOT Jan 04 17:16:44.471077 (749:770) mphone-CHttp_sendRequest(): CHttp_sendRequest to /xml.php?parameter1=argument1?n=0800215000
This is reproduceable on a CP-7841-3PCC with firmware sip78xx.11-3-1MSR3-3.

I can’t find what you ask about? If you’re intention is to report a defect this is not the proper channel for that. For this I recommend you to reach out to TAC.

Yes I wish to make a bug report, because there seems no obvious way for Cisco to accept bug reports.
I don't know what TAC is.

TAC is the support organisation within Cisco, it stands for Technical Assistance Centre. That is the channel that you should use to report a defect.
