I have 12.5 CUCM, 7965, and 8851 phones. Some phones have shared lines.
This issue is with the 8851 and 7965 phones. If the 8851 and 7965 have shared lines and the 7965 puts the call on hold. The 8851 cannot retrieve the call by just pressing the line button. They have to press the Resume button. If the 8851 puts the call on hold, the 7965 can retrieve by just pressing the line button.
If a 8851 puts a call on hold and another 8851 tries to retrieve the shared line by pressing the line button, that does not work either, they have to press the Resume button.
Is there any setting that will allow the 8851 to retrieve the shared line on hold by just pressing the line button?
Your help would greatly be appreciated. I've looked through a lot of stuff and not finding the answer to the above.

I never have tested this by myself, but maybe this is just the way how it works on a 8851.
Just because the feature is working in a certain way on phone model A, doesn't automatically mean it is working the same way on phone model B.

Thanks b. winter!
Oh how I do know things can and will change. I just wanted to make sure, I wasn't missing something, maybe a new setting, etc. I have a couple of upset users. I told them I would try and see if there was a way to make it like the old days.

Is 7965 configured as SCCP or SIP? If you are still using SCCP then change to SIP and check the results. What version are you running on those 7965 and 8851 phones?

Celso,
The 7965's are SCCP, but we are phrasing them out because Cisco has chosen to EOL, shame, good phones. The 7965 is SCCP45.9-4-2SR4-3S and the 8851 is sip88xx.12-8-1-0101-482. I'm getting ready to do a firmware upgrade on the 8851's because of a CDR bug. These users did have 7962 phones until I replaced them with the 8851.
