Cisco 9971 IP Phone - PEAP Authentication

Hi there,

I've read that 9971s do not support PEAP, but it was a relatively old document. Is there a firmware that now supports PEAP? If not, does anyone know if it's on the horizon?

Hi,

EAP-TLS and PEAP-GTC are on the "to do" list for the   9971, but haven't been committed to any release yet.

Please check the following link for cucm 10.0, it does not list PEAP.

...and despite that, the 792x phones have supported it for some time as does the new DX650.

Zack, I could find no evidence that support for PEAP has or will make it to the 9971's any time soon... it certainly isn't in the 9.3 firmware, and I don't see any mention of it in the 9.4 release notes either.
