Cisco SBC [ASR 1006]
I was wondering, whether it is possible to use DNS entry instead of static IPs under remote-address and signaling-peer. We have one partner using DNS instead of IP since the peer IP is frequently changing.
Please advise.
Thanks.
Example:
adjacency sip TEST
nat force-off
signaling-address ipv4 150.100.0.1
statistics method summary
signaling-port 5060
remote-address ipv4 40.0.0.1 255.255.255.255
signaling-peer 40.0.0.1
ping-enable
realm outside
attach

I would think so, type in the commend, i.e. "remote-address ?" to see if you get dns option instead of ipv4.

Thank you for your intellectual input.
Basically, I wanted to know whether DNS-Based routing is possible - and the answer is probably no.
Hence, are their alternatives or workarounds to apply when it is required to route traffic to DNS-based destinations rather than to IPs?
