Hi,
i have cisco cucm 8.6 and unity connection 8.6
1. I have configured CTI route point for my board line 1000
2. the call is routed properly to cisco unity AA
3. I am able to forward the calls on the users input.
4. my requirement is that when users press 2--> this is forwarded to Directory handler, here i want to users to input the extension.
this is not working. It only working if i type the users name but if i dial an extension it doesnt work.
4a. i have disbaled voice recogination
4b. but it doesnt ask for extension, it searches based on first name and last name.
4c. I want to change this feature, it should search by extensions.
5. I have checked

Hi Nitesh,
OK....so now we are trying to use a different method
If you are linking to a Conversation via the Press 2 then it should be
the Caller System Transfer conversation
and the 5???* (allow) would be added on the Default System Transfer Restriction table. That is if
you're trying to transfer to numbers (not in CUC) that begin with 5 and are 4 digits in length.
Cheers!

Hi Nitesh,
I believe Directory Handlers are either Voice enabled
or "search by name". You can route the Press 2 to a separate
Call Handler which will allow the dial by extension functionality
you are looking for

Hi Nitesh,
You can route the Press 2 to a "NEW" separate
Call Handler which will allow the dial by extension functionality
you are looking for
So, the Directory Handler won't be used at all for this Press 2 setup.

Hi Nitesh,
You won't see it as an option in a Call Handler as it
is an "inherent" capability
Give it a try when you get a moment to test.

Hi,
I created an call handler no 2 as for call transfer. and linked that to my AA.
in greetings enabled allow transfers to numbers not associated with users for the call handler 2...
But i am not sure about Transfer rule.
I really new in UC so i am not able to resolve this issue...
i tried it goes there..now i cant dial any extension...

Hi Nitesh,
If using the dial by extension, and checking the "allow transfers" doesn't work
then we need to know if the numbers you are trying to transfer to have mailboxes
on the CUC system, if not, the next place to check is here;
On the Default System Transfer Restriction Table, when I want to transfer to extensions
that begin with 8 but are not part of Unity Connection I need to set;
8???* - Allow
If it was numbers that begin with 5 it would be;
5???* - Allow
Can you give that a try
Cheers!

Hi Nitesh,
Either of the ways we've discussed here will work
Before posting, I've tested both configurations and both will
accomplish what you want to do.
In my last example using the Press 2 to Caller System Transfer conversation
I was able to reach DN 5508 which is NOT a number in Unity Connection so it
would be exactly like the 35 numbers you have that are not in CUC. But you have to make the
suggested adjustments on the Default System Transfer Restriction table to match up with
your numbering plan.
Have you given it a try?
Cheers!
