Cisco UCS C220 M5 Server has '(Bus 66 Dev 00)PCI RAID Adapter' Missing from Boot List

Good afternoon,

I am in the process of building a CUCM cluster using 2x Cisco UCS C220 M5 Servers (BE6000M build). I booted both servers up yesterday and normally they boot straight to the VMWare ESXI install kernel. Server #01 did but Server #02 didn’t.

I have checked the boot sequence and I noticed on Server #01 it has '(Bus 66 Dev 00)PCI RAID Adapter' in its boot list; Server #02 didn’t.

I also checked the BIOS on Server #01 and under PCIe SlotID: MLOM OpROM has the MRAID OptionROM execution control enabled with ‘Cisco 12G Modular Raid Controller with 2GB cache’ installed; Server #02 didn’t (not populated)

I checked the BOM of what I ordered from Cisco and can see for both servers the Cisco 12G Modular RAID controller with 2GB cache (BE6K-RAIDCTRLR) was ordered...

Can anybody advise please? Does Server #02 need to be sent back to Cisco?

See photos attached.

Thank you in advance!

Reinsert the Raid Card. I faced this couple of time and when reinserted the card it got detected. After that I never faced this issue.

Note:- if you don't have much idea about sever its recommended to involve technical team who works on server.  Please follow the below document to locate the raid card on your server.

Hi,

Not sure I follow, which item in the table is it please:

M5 Server Table.PNG

It will be connected on 12. if not on 13. Remove and reinsert on the same slot. And also check the Cables connected to hard disk from the raid is not loose.
