Cisco Unity Connection and Office 365 Hosted Exchange

All,

When I add the Unified Messaging account to the end user in unity connection I get this error saying " unable to locate an Exchange Server at which to access "user@domain.com", but in the SMTP stuff I have the IP address of the hosted exchange. The message I'm seeing below:

"Then in Unity Connection I'm getting this "Currently, this user does not have an SMTP proxy address that matches the Exchange email address that you specified in the Account Information section. We recommend that you add an SMTP proxy address so SMTP messages sent to the Connection server and addressed to the Exchange email address can be routed to the corresponding Connection user. "

So when I go and check this it says it's already configured on this object

Here are my settings:

Shouldn't the Cisco Unity account be an administrator or just a user?

Yes i've reviewed over the documentation, and I think what's screwing me up is the PowerShell stuff. I tried running these commands but keep failing.

use this gain and try your scinario and check the output agian yo must have a error code , other thing i notice that the user name which you type is account is HDV\unityconn , did you create with the same syntax  or it is just unityconn. Please review this point.

Step 1 In Cisco Unity Connection Administration, expand Tools, then select Task Management.

Step 2 On the Task Definitions page, select Check System Configuration.

Step 3 Select Run Now.

Step 4 Select Refresh to display links to the latest results.

I will tell you about troubleshoot , i think it will be useful

1- If you lookup inyor snapshots , try to modify in snapshot no3 ,5 the username to ( UnityConn)  without HDV\ or @...., after that do the same task management, after that replace the UnityConn to khayes and try again the task management. Finally please shae tis troubleshoot

That's a Snapshot of my Unified Messaging Account status.

Dear

please change the username to the name .of the user Khayes which is needed to test , but please only typr the user name . After that please check. If you use LDAP between CUC and your active diretory , please check the validate credentials between CUC and Active directory.

Same results.

ignore serch DNS , and use the specify Exchange hostname , maybe some thing errors in your DNS .

The validation results for unified messaging service Exchange10 are the following:

The server domain name can be resolved.
Server bluprd0612.outlook.com cannot be contacted by pinging.Confirm that the systems service ports are functioning. This check uses a low level protocol, such as ICMP ECHO, and may not work through firewalls.
This test does not test all aspects of the configuration of  the service. To complete testing, add a unified messaging account for a  user and test the account using the Test button on the Edit Unified  Messaging Account page.

I did what you suggested and that's the error I got.

Ok , let's  do some thing else go back to your configuration with serch for DNS . The problem that it cannot reach to 365 exchange . Make sure that your account on Active diirectory is same which you type on CUC. Do not use encrypt uncheck the vlidate using LDAP.

use the below

--set network dns

– set network dns options

recommend that you configure Connection to use the same DNS environment in which the .Active Directory environment is publishing its records

Should it be my local DNS or Public DNS?
