Hello to everybody.
I have doubts about license for Cisco Router 2851-SRST.
Cisco says that this router has license for 96 ip phone.
I wonder if We can buy two license "FL-SRST-96" for only one router so this router would support 194 ip phones.
Could anyone tell me if we can do this operation?
Thanks .

No, you cannot do that. Each platform is limited with the number of phones it can support in SRST mode. To support 194 phones you will have to go to the next model (38xx)

Hi Rodrigo,
The Max IP Phones is based on the Router platform and Memory. Here is the number for a 3845 and CME;
Cisco 3845
Maximum Total IP Phones = 240
From this excellent Matrix;

Hope this helps!

Hi Guys,
just to let you know that there is a difference between the SRST and CME limit supported by hardware (i found it by mistake a week back) i donno if it is a new thing or it was always like that.
but for instance the 3825 support 196 IP phone in CME mode and 366 in SRST.
so Rob for 3845 is even better 240 in CME and more than 700 for SRST.
Good day

Hi,
The idea of increasing "a little" the number of phones supported is reasonable, especially after observing a typical CCME router with maximum number of phones, still is very idle. What you can try, at your risk since I don't think the TAC would support that, is to configure 96 phones for SCCP, and 96 more for SIP.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
