Hi,

I am trying to integrate the CUCMC 8.5 with Lync 2010 as described in the cisco config documention from cisco. I am gettin the status of the "Client Services Framework" as" unknown".

Can any one please let me know what could be the cause of this.

Did you ever find a fix to your issue? I have the exact same problem. What's weird is it was working before and now its not.

Hi

What's the problem? 'Unknown' means it's not registered... are you using the softphone function of CSF or desk phone control?

If you are using the softphone, and it's registered but shows as 'unknown' it could be a problem with the RIS service... usually a restart of RIS clears those things up.

I am using CUCILync, which is set up as a CSF phone. A few days ago I could use it as a soft phone or I could click the icon and flip it over to remote call control. Today, I still have remote call control, but I am unable to use CUCILync as a soft phone.

The status and IP address both show as unknown in CUCM. I know it isn't registering, but I have rebooted the entire CUCM server, my laptop, double checked registry keys. I am kind of stuck.

When you try to click the icon that switches between RCC and soft phone you get this message:

"At present you cannot switch to use your desk phone for phone calls instead of your computer, or the reverse"

Hi

So the requirements for softphone are:

  • CUCSF device created
  • CUCSF device added to your user account as a device association

If you have those configured correctly, then check the CSF logs - there's a 'create problem report' function in the menus somewhere that zips up the various logs onto your desktop. Maybe post those up or review them yourself.

It's possible that there is a problem accessing TFTP from your PC or the ports required for registration, if so you'll see errors in the logs.

Try shutting down Windows Firewall then (fully, as in closing it from the system tray as well) the Lync client and starting it again.

Hi,

I did a successful integration 5 months back.. I have attached the BAT file and part of the document.

We had Active Directory integration with the CUCM.

Extension Mobility was in USE.

I faced several issues during the integration, but I am not remembering  al those. Hope this document will help...
