Hi,
we have a CME 10.5 installation with a bunch of 7965G phones. I would like to force them to use G.722 for internal calls,
I tried to configure this on the ephone level, but:
router(config-ephone)#codec g722-64K
The phone/phone load for this device does not support the codec entered, configuration retained, but the voice codec unchanged!
Please also check if (service phone g722CodecSupport 2)
is configured either under telephony-service or ephone-template
as applicable; may need to regenerate cnf files and reset the phone.
Firmware being used: SCCP45.9-4-2-1S
telephony-service
..
service phone g722CodecSupport 2
load 7965 SCCP45.9-4-2-1S.loads
...
Someone any hints?
Thanks!
Heinz

Hi Heinz,
Can you reset the phone or unregister it for a minute and then try adding this command. Sometimes changing the codec does not work if the phone is already registered with a preferred codec.

Hi,
Can you please enter the following commands:
telephony-service
codec g722-64
service phone g722CodecSupport 2
service phone advertiseG722Codec 1
Once done reset the phones and share the phone config file content (more path/SEPXXXXX.cnf.xml)

Hi Hein,
I am running into this exact issue, however with 7942 phones.
CME installation: 10.5
Load file: SCCP42.9-4-2-1S.loads
I tried the below from Mohammed and Manish, but still no luck.
Did you get a resolution?
Thanks
Kent
