cme-srst feature license on C2911-CME-SRST-K9

Dears,

I am setting up 2911 voice bundle cme with CME-SRST-25 right-to-use license, with the IOS version

c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-1.T, and I received the CME 25 seats paper license notification.

When I do a 'sh license detail' I see the cme-srst feature has a license type of 'EvalRightToUse'. Evaluation period is 8 weeks 4 days. shown as below:

StoreIndex: 7   Feature: cme-srst                        Version: 1.0

       License Type: EvalRightToUse

       License State: Active, In Use

Evaluation total period: 8 weeks 4 days

Evaluation period left: 8 weeks 3 days

Period used: 24 minutes 8 seconds

           Transition date: Sep 08 2011 14:05:43

       License Count: 82/0 (In-use/Violation)

       License Priority: Low

Can anybody tell me why the cme-srst license shows evaluation and how to install the cme-srst on the router as permanent license?

Thanks,

Kirin

Hi Folks,

Here's the answer from Cisco Licensing on this question. This was nicely

supplied by Ian in this thread we were working on

"Licensing functionality is working as per design here.  Cme-srst licenses are honor based

and hence you have to just accept the EULA.  After the 60 days of EvalRightToUse the

license will change to "right to use" for 12 years."

I read a document which idicates that the EvalRightToUse becomes a permanent license at the end of the eval period.

This is unclear and I dont want to take the chance?

thanks

Ian.

Hello! I wait when license period will come to an end. I will write when it will come to an end and I will show result.

Cisco either need to re-write (coherently) their ISR G2 licensing with respect to CUCME and newer IOS or fix whatever bug is causing this. There is no way I am leaving a potentially ticking time bomb of 8 weeks on someones mission critical communication system. I just roll the code back to a version that takes the acceptance of the EULA.
