Compatibility between CUCM 11.5 and CUE 8.6.X

Hello Guys,

We are Planning to upgrade the IPT Environment for one of our Customer,

we have more than 40 Sites and in each site we have a CUE version 8.6, and we are going to Upgrade the CUCM to Version 11.5SU3, the Problem is we found that CUCM 11.5 Does not support CUE lesser than 9.0, which is Virtual !!!

We use the CUE as just to play a Prompt when somebody calls the Site informing the caller to Call the HQ,

Any ideas about how to connect the CUE with the CUCM ??

you could try to play an announcement using a hunt pilot. I am not sure if it serves your purpose 100%, but if it does, you could rid your CUE's all together.

actually i hope that we can go with this Suggestions, but its a Bank have more than 40 Sites, and Each site has its E1 connected to the VGW (acting as CUE) !! i know its Kind of mad to have 40 E1 Lines, but this is the Policy of the Bank,

You integrate CUE with CUCM via JTAPI. This is recommended.

There is a limit for triggers that you can have with vCUE depending upon the underlying platform that hosts the CUE. See table 5 -

OK, JTAPI is going to be configured for integration but:

is JTAPI of CUE 8.6.X  compatible with CUCM11.5?

According to the known compatibility Matrix, CUE 8.6.12 is not compatible with CUCM 11.5.

Is it tested by cisco or it is not that is why it is not listed?

If you need it only for CTI Route Point Registration for basic AA is it going work?

If not, the only way not to replace a bunch of SREs is to make the integration to CUCME and make appropriate changes to the config of the voice gateway.

Of course, you will miss some nice things this way ... :-(

The minimum CUE required for 11.5 is 9.0.3 is vCUE that is why I referenced the same in my post. This is virtual only and if you have an already existing UCS infra, you can use create a VM instance to support it.
