We have voice routers (4431's, 881v's) installed at off-sites and are connected to the call manager via SIP. They are used primarly for SRST and for servicing incoming calls to main number which is on POTS line connecting to FXO port. Now we are thinking of leveraging the FXS ports on these gateways to service fax's and analog phones etc. The FXO port was configured for PLAR that routes the call via SIP to the CUCM. When it comes to the FXS ports, could we just configure the pots dial-peer with destinaton-pattern and port assignment, then create a route pattern in CUCM with Route-list pointing to the SIP Trunk ? I am wondering if we had to leverage STCAPP to define the FXS ports in CUCM while leaving the FXO port to be communicated via SIP ? In an essence is FXS ports supported via SIP ? I know MGCP and H.323 supports FXS ports but haven't deployed one with SIP. Any inputs and confirmation is greatly appreciated.
