I know this is a very tired topic on this board, but we have yet another question regarding converting a number of Cisco 8861 phones from Enterprise to 3PCC. We intend to use a third-party for service (Ring Central). After researching, we identified the following SKU as the proper conversion license (from the following page: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/smb/collaboration-endpoints/cisco-ip-phone-8800-series/1534-Conversion-enterprise-phone-to-mmp-or-vice-versa.html).
Traditional Licensing
If your phone is eligible for conversion and you have upgraded to the latest firmware, you then need to purchase a license for each phone. Contact your vendor for details on where to purchase the licenses.
For migrating enterprise phones to MPP firmware for use with any call control other than Webex Calling, you need to acquire regular licenses with following SKUs based on what type of phone models you have.
L-CP-E2M-78XX-CNV
L-CP-E2M-88XX-CNV
We purchased the license and followed the instruction on the following page:
https://upgrade.cisco.com/e2m_converter_3rd
We successfully upgraded the phone and observed the following information from Settings --> 8. Status --> 1. Product Information:
1. Product Name = CP-8861-3PCC
4. Software Version = sip88xx.11-3-7MPP001.272.loads
What we don't understand is that we're being prompted for an activation code on the Welcome screen.
We did not expect this and we're now wondering if we purchased the wrong conversion license (SKU).
Any ideas?

This is the default screen. You probably need to configure it via WebGUI, so that it connects to your pbx.
